What do the Patriots do best? They win. No matter the circumstances.
Even off the football field, the Patriots are leading the way and helping to win the fight against COVID-19.
Team owner Robert Kraft and his son Jonathan, the current president of the organization, partnered with the state government to arrange to send the Patriots private plane over to China to pick up vital supplies.
Along with the 1.2 million masks, Robert also bought 300,000 more individual masks for New York State alone, where the virus is the most densely populated in the United States.
"It is an honor for our family to be a part of this humanitarian mission. We knew that purchasing greatly-needed N95 masks and providing the Patriots plane to expedite their delivery to local hospitals would immediately help protect our courageous healthcare professionals,"Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker announced the news and thanked the Krafts as well through a tweet.
No days off. Thanks to some serious teamwork, Massachusetts is set to receive over 1 million N95 masks for our front-line workers. Huge thanks to the Krafts and several dedicated partners for making this happen. pic.twitter.com/ieV6XMC5Ow— Charlie Baker (@MassGovernor) April 2, 2020
