Rex Burkhead looks set to be taken off IR
(patspulpit.com)
Although the Patriots seem to be having some mid-season injury issues, they did get a good sign from practice. Rex Burkhead, who was placed on IR after week 3 with a neck issue, was seen at practice yesterday.
Teams are allowed to designate two players back from IR during the season, but must wait eight weeks after being placed. So Rex wont be eligible until the home matchup against the Vikings on December 2nd, but this is still a great sign.
The team will be getting a big boost with Burkhead's return, as they lost Jeremy Hill to an ACL and Sony Michel for the past two weeks. Although it has been fun to watch Cordarrelle Patterson as a running back, it will be a lot more comforting to see Burkhead and Michel back there carrying the load.
The Pats also filled their first IR spot by bringing back rookie Duke Dawson from a hamstring injury at the start of the season.
