Patriots reportedly restructuring Gronk's contract
Matt Stone | Boston Herald |
The New England Patriots are well underway of Phase 3 of the NFL offseason program, but a few important people are still missing – notably Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.
No one knows for certain what is keeping these two from the field, but it was recently reported by NFL Network’s James Palmer that the Patriots are working on restructuring Gronk’s contract.
A contract restructure with Rob Gronkowski is currently being worked on. If it has incentives like last year, per NFL rules it can't be done until May 24th (1 year from when he restructured his last deal). That’s a date to keep an eye on. Patriots third OTA is also on May 24th— James Palmer (@JamesPalmerTV) May 21, 2018
Hopefully this will give him more incentive (pun intended) to return to the facility and get back in the swing of things.
We should hear more about this contract restructuring tomorrow, May 24 – which is one year from when he and the team last revamped his deal.
