Patriots re-sign Marquis Flowers to 1-year deal

The Patriots re-signed linebacker Marquis Flowers to a one-year, $2.25 million deal.
Flowers began as a special teams linebacker but turned into one of New England's better coverage linebackers. He amassed 3.5 sacks last season.
If the Patriots are healthy next season, and that's a big if, Flowers should find himself as a backup linebacker behind Dont'a Hightower, Kyle Van Noy, Elandon Roberts and others. Flowers will also have the benefit of being with the Patriots for a full offseason this time around.
He was acquired in a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals last August.
