Looks like a reunion between Danny Woodhead and the Patriots isn't going to happen.
The former undrafted Jets, Patriots, Chargers and Ravens running back announced his retirement from the NFL last Friday night. After being a standout on HBO's "Hard Knocks" with the New York Jets in 2010, the team cut him after Week 1 of that season and he was picked up by the Patriots where he spent the next three seasons as a reliable offensive weapon.
He then spent four seasons with the Chargers before signing a three-year deal with the Ravens last off-seasons.
On his Instagram page, Woodhead thanked his family and the organizations he played for over the course of his career. Before announcing his retirement, it was rumored that the Patriots had contacted Woodhead about possibly coming back to New England.
