Three children’s hospitals around the New England area got a few special visitors on Tuesday.
Patriots’ tight end Rob Gronkowski, two of his brothers and their father traveled throughout three states to personally deliver a $25,000 donation to each of the three.
The Boston Children’s Hospital in Massachusetts, the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital in Maine and Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Rhode Island were all recipients of the donations. The money was raised by the “Gronk Youth Foundation” through a raffle for tickets to the Patriots’ AFC Championship game and Super Bowl LII.
Rob, Gordie, Dan and Gordie Jr. spent time at each stop playing games and hanging out with the kids. They even gave “ball-spiking lessons” at one of the stops.
Gronk has been an active member among children’s hospital events over the years. One of the biggest events he participates in is the “One Mission Cancer Buzz Off,” which is a Boston Children’s and Jimmy Fund Fundraiser in which members shave their heads.
