David Harris announces retirement

Patriots linebacker David Harris has announced his retirement from the NFL after 11 seasons.
He spent 10 years with the Jets before they released him in the latter part of last offseason, which is when the Patriots picked him up.
Harris was used primarily in situational run packages but was forced into more action as injuries on defense piled up. Ultimately he became a healthy scratch at seasons end.

The Patriots will save just over $1.5 million in cap space as a result of Harris's retirement.
