Patriots make a series of roster moves, place Marcus Cannon on IR

Marcus Cannon's season is over, which is not good news for the Patriots. The team placed him on IR today, which means LaAdrian Waddle will assume starting right tackle duties.
Cannon missed the last five games with an ankle injury and was thought to be close to a return. This is a big blow to the offensive line, which looked out of sorts on Monday night against the Dolphins. When healthy, Cannon was a key piece to keeping Tom Brady upright.
The team also released Jonathan Freeny and Bernard Reedy to make room for Rob Gronkowski and Kenny Britt. Ricky Jean Francois was also back for defensive line help, as the status of Alan Branch is unknown moving forward.
So many moves by the Pats, per @AdamSchefter: sign Britt and DL Ricky Jean Francois, released LB Jonathan Freeny and WR Bernard Reedy & place OL Marcus Cannon on IR.— Christopher Price (@cpriceNFL) December 13, 2017
