The Patriots will place Martellus Bennett on IR

Martellus Bennett's triumphant return to New England is going to be short-lived.
The Patriots are set to put him on injured reserve after only playing in two games for the team since being claimed on waivers from the Packers.

Bennett was planning to retire after this season and there's no word on whether that is still true. Bill Belichick reportedly convinced him to come play for the Pats again before they claimed him, so it's possible Bennett could be talked into continuing his playing career if it's with New England.
