The Patriots made two small roster moves yesterday, signing third-round pick Tony Garcia and undrafted rookie cornerback Will Likely.
Likely is a Swiss army knife type of player, as he played offense, defense and special teams at the University of Maryland before tearing his ACL in October.
As a defensive player, Likely recorded 229 tackles, 16.5 of them for losses, seven interceptions, two sacks, five forced fumbles, one recovery, two defensive touchdowns and two sacks.
On offense, he rushed 13 times for 108 yards and caught six passes for 12 yards.
As a special-teamer, Likely racked up 2,233 yards on 87 kick returns to go along with two touchdowns. He returned 67 punts for 875 yards and four touchdowns.
To make room for Likely, the Patriots waived rookie undrafted defensive end Corey Vereen, who will go to the injured reserve list if he clears waivers.
Third-round defensive end Derek Rivers is the only player who remains unsigned.
