His latest venture? Sideline reporting.
Gronkowski joined Fox Sports on Sunday, as part of pre-race coverage for the Daytona 500. Along with Michael Waltrip -- who is making his final NASCAR start -- he surveyed the starting grid, and was tasked with interviewing drivers before the Great American Race.
Well, as luck would have it, Gronk couldn't find any drivers. He did find the Monster Energy Girls, though! So, today's #GridWalk included @RobGronkowski interviewing a @MonsterEnergy girl. #DaytonaDay 2017 is a good day. https://t.co/vdmlQBtTo6— FOX SPORTS: NASCAR (@NASCARONFOX) February 26, 2017
He asked one girl, Ashley, if she had a favorite speed limit, hoping to elicit the classic "69" response, but it didn't quite work out according to plan.
"I am hardcore, I like to go as fast as possible," Ashley responded.
That's an answer I can get on board with. On a track featuring speeds upwards of 200 miles per hour, 69 doesn't quite cut it -- as funny as it may be.
Gronk's appearance does make sense, too. He's been signed to an endorsement deal with Monster Energy, and Monster acquired the naming rights to NASCAR's top series in December.
