Tom Brady to David Ortiz: 'No one is better than you'
One of the best players in NFL history praised one of the most-clutch hitters in MLB history Tuesday and wished him well as he gears up for one last playoff run before retirement.
In a Facebook shoutout to Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, New England Patriots great Tom Brady wrote "Best of luck in your final playoffs, Papi! I've loved watching you play over the years."
Ortiz and the Red Sox are gearing up for a run at the World Series. The club has one three titles since acquiring him before the 2003 season. During that time, Brady and the Patriots have added three championships of their own.
"No one is better than you when the pressure is on," Brady added -- a compliment Ortiz will surely pay the quarterback when he decides to hang up the cleats.
The two Boston sports titans have performed at the top of their respected sports for over a decade now without being hindered by age. Brady is not ready to bow out and it seems like he would love a chance to talk Ortiz out of retirement.
Brady wrote in conclusion, "PS - It's not too late to change your mind, Papi!! Let's talk.... HA."
Oh, and Brady included a photo of himself rocking a sweet shirt that read: "Retired Not Expired."
