Chris Hogan visiting with the Patriots
Wide receiver Chris Hogan, most recently of the Buffalo Bills, is reportedly set to visit with the New England Patriots, who are looking to add some depth at the position after cutting Brandon LaFell and Scott Chandler.
Name: Chris Hogan
Age: 27
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 215 lbs
College: Penn State/Monmouth
Draft: Undrafted in 2011
Career Statistics:
Hogan has had a couple productive seasons in Buffalo and is a good route-runner who could be a nice fit in the Patriot offense, especially given the fact starting slot receivers Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola are both injury prone. The team is in need of depth at the position and Hogan could provide that at a relatively low cost.
He is currently a restricted free agent so in order to sign him the Patriots would have to submit an offer sheet. The Bills would then have five days to match that offer in order to retain the player. Buffalo tendered him at the lowest possible value of $1.67 million, so if he does sign with the Patriots or another team, the Bills would receive no compensation.
The Patriots have been linked to other free agent wideouts in recent days, including Anquan Boldin and James Jones. We will see if the shifty Hogan leaves Foxborough with an offer sheet in hand.
