Chiefs wideout Jeremy Maclin diagnosed with high ankle sprain
It looks Jeremy Maclin and the Chiefs have (mostly) dodged a huge bullet.
With initial reports fearing a torn ACL, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that the Cheifs wide receiver suffered a high ankle sprain in KC's 30-0 blowout win over the Texans back on Saturday.
MRI showed Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin did NOT tear his ACL, per source. He did suffer a high ankle sprain. Status for Saturday at NE uncertain.

Avoiding a torn ACL is obviously good news for Maclin and the Chiefs, but having a high ankle sprain isn't exactly the greatest consolation prize. His status for Saturday's game at Gillette is uncertain at the time, and really there's no way Maclin won't be hampered by the injury if it's as bad as it looked when he was writhing in pain on the turf two days ago.If that's the case, it's one less playmaker for Alex Smith to throw to, and he never had many to begin with in the first place.
