Patriots claim 2 players and an update on Devin McCourty
The Patriots acquired a couple of players via the waiver wire a short time ago.
According to sources, the team claimed veteran wide receiver Leonard Hankerson from the Atlanta Falcons and offensive lineman LaAdrian Waddle from the Detroit Lions.

To make room for the moves, LeGarrette Blount was officially placed on IR and waived wide receiver Damaris Johnson. The move for Hankerson is especially intriguing because of his numbers and the fact that crossing routes seem to be a strength of his, which the Patriots like to run.
Leonard Hankerson had 26 catches for 327 yards and 3 TDs in '15. Placed on IR Dec. 4 (hamstring). Waived off IR Tuesday & eligible to play

Also, a big development on the Devin McCourty injury front. He's got a high ankle sprain, according to a league source.

Those injuries generally take four to six weeks to recover from, so it's very likely McCourty will sit out the remainder of the regular season.
