The Patriots really wanted Jason McCourty
The Patriots tried to pull off a deal for Titans cornerback Jason McCourty yesterday before the 4 p.m. trade deadline, but they were unsuccessful in doing so.
A trade for Jason would have reunited him with his brother, Patriots safety Devin McCourty. The brothers played together in high school and at Rutgers, so putting them on the same NFL team would have been a nice story.
Yup. They worked it hard. To no avail. https://t.co/Psm4qG9Nxc

Jason McCourty has only played in four games this year, making his debut on Oct. 11 against Buffalo. He's yet to record an interception and only has 11 tackles on the season. That being said, he would have added a veteran presence to a Patriots secondary that is one of the youngest in the NFL.
If there was interest at the trade deadline, you can bet there will be interest in the offseason, so don't expect this to totally go away.
