While some teams have been quiet about any possible interest in Collins, it has been confirmed today by Nick Underhill of The New Orleans Advocate that the Patriots have both reached out to him and expressed interest in signing him.
Another team on La'el Collins? @DellengerAdv and I are told the Patriots have shown interest and reached out to him.

Despite the Patriots drafting both Tre' Jackson and Shaq Mason, Collins could become an instant starter at left guard for the Patriots and solidify their line for years to come. Collins was originally pegged as a first round draft pick before his former girlfriend was murdered and police asked him to answer a few questions and take a paternity test to see if he was the father for the woman's now deceased child. Collins was never a suspect, and after answering questions yesterday, appears to remain not a suspect.
Now the Patriots will need to convince Collins to join them over the other 32 teams, who will each be able to offer similar money, but unique situations. State taxes, playing time, position, and team success are all potential factors in his decision.
Patriots could interest Collins is that he could earn $165K in postseason pay if Pats win Super Bowl 50 after having a bye, $190 w/no bye

As an UDFA Collins would be one of lowest paid players on team while also playing in a good number of snaps. That equates to high PBP dollars

Though the Patriots seem to be content with their current line, Collins is too interesting a prospect to not throw their name into the hat for him. He will have to decide where he wants to play. Even if he signs elsewhere, as Nick Underhill points out, this could be, at the very least, another one of Belichick's imfamous information gathering missions.
Thing to remember with Collins is that contact, visits could be an effort to find facts more than anything.
