Texans officially release Andre Johnson
In a move that surprises nobody, the Houston Texans have released wide receiver Andre Johnson, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Johnson asked to either be traded or released when he was told his role in Houston's offense would be reduced for the upcoming season. Johnson has said he wants to play for a "great QB." There are only a few of those around and one of them resides in New England. Expect the Patriots to be linked to Johnson.
Whether or not they make a play for him is an entirely different story.
