Bills not done making moves, trade for former Patriot QB
Derek Hingle - USA Today Sports |
Just a day after Rex Ryan and the Bills made a splash and traded for LeSean McCoy they have made another move. This time its a trade for former Patriots Quarterback Matt Cassel.
The Bills and Vikings have agreed in principle to trade Matt Cassel in exchange for draft picks. Those picks haven't been disclosed yet.
Bills announced they will acquire QB Matt Cassel from Vikings and an undisclosed draft choice in exchange for undisclosed draft choices.

Cassel was Tom Brady's backup when Brady went down for the year with an ACL tear. He threw for 21 touchdowns and 3693 yards that year in route to an 11-5 record. The Patriots missed out on the playoffs that year due to a tie breaker. He was traded the next year to the Kansas City Chiefs and has since bounced around the league as a spot starter.
Ryan must think that pairing Cassel and McCoy together along with the already stout defense will be the key to toppling the Patriots in the division. It still remains to be seen what moves the Patriots will make this offseason but one thing has become very clear over the last couple of days.
Its the Bills not the Dolphins or Jets that they will have to contend with next year.
