Sexy-Rexy finally "embarrased"

On Tuesday, embattled New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan opened up to reporters during a conference call. "I'm embarrassed for myself, absolutely," Ryan said. "It's an embarrassment. It's definitely embarrassing to me. I feel like I've let my owner down. I've let our fan base down."

The 2-10 Jets have been very embarrassing this season, flip-flopping between Geno Smith and Michael Vick at quarterback and not even introducing Smith last week in fear of him getting booed, as Paul Murphy wrote about Monday. The two time AFC finalist has turned into a laughing stock around the league.

But how was this the tipping point for Ryan? It took a 2-10 season to push him over the edge ... really? It wasn't the foot fetish video that surfaced with your wife?

It clearly wasn't enough to make Ryan publicly embarrassed, even if he did admit to his team otherwise.

Titillating tootsies aside, Ryan has had plenty to be embarrassed about since taking over as pilot of the Jets in 2009, including (but not limited to) the infamous "Butt Fumble," all of his statements regarding "Kissing the Rings," and every decision he has made in regards to the New York Jets quarterback situation in the past five years.

Sexy-Rexy has eaten a healthy serving of humble pie this year and it's really difficult not to feel for him at this point. If I were him, I would get out of dodge and take a much needed hiatus out of the limelight.
