John Fox is OK with Knighton's Super Bowl guarantee

Denver Broncos nose tackle issued a challenge to the Patriots when he guaranteed a Broncos Super Bowl win after they beat the San Diego Chargers, even if they have to go through the Patriots at Foxborough to do so. Broncos head coach John Fox apparently has no problem with that, according to CSNNE.

Fox:
"I think that's been the goal all season," the Denver Broncos coach said when asked for his take on Knighton's Joe Namath-like guarantee over the weekend that Denver will win it all.

"I think guys said it way back. The key - and they understand this - is how we get there," Fox said. "We've been pretty good all season long at keeping our focus small. All our focus will be on the Cincinnati Bengals."

Most teams will tell you that the ultimate goal at the end of the year is to win a Super Bowl, but Knighton took it a step further by guaranteeing it. Knighton has to be careful what he wishes for, though. First, he provided bulletin board material for the Patriots, regardless of where they play. Second, if the AFC road to Glendale does go through Gillette, Knighton would do well to remember the first time these 2 teams played in Foxborough this year. And last but not least, his quarterback is something of an expert in 1-and-dones, so it's no guarantee they even get to the AFC title game. You could say that for the Pats, but with an 18-7 playoff record and a much better (and healthier!) team than last year, there's a good chance that Tom Brady leads his team back to the AFC Championship game.

Message to the Broncos: it's fine if you want to make these promises, just don't expect much love from your fans when you fall short. Again.
