Is Jets owner Woody Johnson guilty of tampering?

“Darrelle is a great player and if I thought I could have gotten Darrelle for that, I probably would’ve taken him,” Johnson told reporters of the one-year deal Revis signed with the Patriots in March. “And it was our best judgment to do what we did. Darrelle’s a great player — I’d love for Darrelle to come back.”
The comments went without much attention at first, but soon after, words of tampering began to spread around Twitter. Jeff Howe provided his followers with a definition of tampering, straight from the league.

It'll be interesting to see if this story picks up any traction. If it does, what will sort of penalty will the NFL hand down on the Jets? Stay tuned.
