Detroit to host Bills-Jets on early Monday Night Football

On December 13, 2010, Ford Field was the site of the Minnesota Vikings/New York Giants game after the Vikings home, the Metrodome, collapsed. The Giants defeated the Vikings 21-3, in front of 45,000 fans.

The 1968 Boston Patriots vs. New York Jets football game was a regular-season, American Football League (AFL) game played on September 22, 1968, at Legion Field in Birmingham. The move became necessary as the Boston Red Sox stated that Fenway Park would be unavailable. The primary reason for selecting Legion Field was to serve as a "test game" to gauge overall interest in professional football. Serving as the home opener for the Boston Patriots, the New York Jets were victorious by a final score of 47–31. The game marked the first regular-season, major professional football game ever played in the state of Alabama. Attendance for the contest was 29,192 and the temperature was 73 degrees. Additionally, the visiting Jets featured former University of Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Joe Namath, who was expected to draw additional fans to the stadium.

With the Qualcomm Stadium parking lot being used as an evacuation site because of wildfires in the San Diego area, the NFL has moved tonight's "Monday Night Football" game between the San Diego Chargers and Miami Dolphins to Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz. "If you moved it somewhere close, and you have a chance of all the people who had tickets showing up, you've got yourself one serious logistical nightmare."

Tickets to the game will be available at no charge on a first-come, first-served basis at Sun Devil Stadium. Contributions will be collected at the gates and donated to San Diego-area emergency relief agencies. Refunds will be issued to ticket-holders for the canceled game at Qualcomm Stadium.
The Miami Dolphins defeated the San Diego Chargers, 26-10.

The 1969 Boston Patriots tried to capitalize on the New York Jets' popularity following their Super Bowl III win. The home team Patriots were manhandled by the Jets in Birmingham, AL. The 2003 San Diego Chargers had Drew Brees at QB, but his three interceptions contributed in the loss to the Dolphins in Tempe, AZ. It didn't help that he was sacked six times as well. However, attendance was 73,014 and the temperature was 79 degrees.

Bills fans trying to get information about refunds and credits for Sunday’s game that was moved to Monday night in Detroit are likely running into problems.

The Bills apparently mistakenly gave out an incorrect phone number for its ticket office. Information on the Bills Website instructs ticket holders to call 1-877-228-4357.

But that’s actually the phone number for a domestic violence crisis center in Ohio, which has been receiving a barrage of calls from Bills fans.

The Patriots traveled 1170 miles for a "test" game and lost. The Chargers traveled 356 miles due to "wildfires" and lost. The Bills have traveled 256 miles due to snow. Buffalo's opponent, the 2-8 New York Jets are welcome at any venue, anytime.

This marks the second time the Bills will play at Ford Field this season following a 17-14 win over the Lions on Oct. 5.
