Chris Harris Jr.: 'It'll be different when they come to Denver'

John Leyba/Denver Post
Broncos cornerback Chris Harris Jr. knows something we don't.

After the Patriots 43-21 drubbing of the "best team in football," Harris Jr. claimed when the Patriots go to Denver in the playoffs later this season, it's going to be a different game. Per Mike Cole of NESN.com:

“€œWhen they come to Denver, it’€™s going to be a different game,” the cornerback said, via WEEI.com. “€Plain and simple.”€

Book it. The Patriots are going to Denver, because Chris Harris Jr. said so. What is he basing this on?

“Look at the playoffs last year. It was different last year,” Harris said, via WEEI.com. “We’€™ll see them again. We have to try and get the home-field advantage. This game always comes down to it, but they got the lead on us, so we have to win out.”

All jokes aside, it definitely isn't out of the realm of possibility that New England will have to travel to Denver for a playoff game, very likely the AFC Championship game. The Broncos have a much easier schedule from here on out than the Patriots do, at least in terms of team's overall records.

Denver has to play the Raiders two times and also have a date with St. Louis. They also have to go up against the Dolphins, Bills and Bengals, but also have divisional match ups left with Kansas City and San Diego. Obviously, Denver is better than all of those teams and will likely win many of the match ups.

However, none of that matters if the Patriots keep up this torrid pace. Last night, they dethroned the supposed best team in football. So right now, the Patriots hold that crown. The Broncos game was the first in a daunting stretch for New England, but after last night, they showed they can beat anybody.

They hold a 7-2 record going into the bye, which is the best record in the AFC. By virtue of that, they hold the No. 1 overall seed and as of now, the road to the Super Bowl goes through Gillette Stadium, as it has many times before.
