Nation comes to their senses, agrees Tom Brady is still elite

Boston Globe

What have you done for me lately? That's the standard every quarterback is held to. It doesn't matter how much success they have had in the past. All it takes is one bad game and all of a sudden the back up QB is the most popular guy in town.

Tom Brady isn't immune from that. After his early season struggles a SportsNation poll was split 50/50 on whether he was still an elite quarterback. Then he went on his current tear to the tune of 100-of-144 for 1,268 yards, 14 touchdowns and no interceptions. After that, the poll looked completely different with 76% of the nation feeling he was once again "elite".

This is why I'm not a fan of the "jump to conclusions" game the media likes to play. Sometimes it just takes a few weeks for teams to round into form. As Bill Belichick always says, the real season starts after Thanksgiving and that's when you want to be playing your best football.
