Breaking down why the Patriots will win the AFC East

I know many of you are ready to write off this year's season after the poor performance against Kansas City in week 4. Before you pack up your jersey for the season, allow me to restore faith in our beloved Minutemen.

Hello my name is Professor Weathers and welcome to Breaking Down the AFC East! Today, we will examine the four teams from the AFC East and predict their ranking based on their remaining schedule.

First up, we have the Buffalo Bills.  Oh Buffalo.  You continue to be a team that just leaves your fans on a roller coaster of emotions.  After winning your first two games of the season, you then showed your true colors by losing back-to-back games and benching EJ Manuel for Kyle Orton.  Unfortunately, there is more bad news for you.  Your remaining schedule looks pretty, pretty, rough.  You will challenge the Patriots at home and away.  However, you will come up empty handed in both matchups.  I anticipate three more victories in your future.  Two at home against the Jets and Browns.  The last victory will come on the road against the helpless Raiders.  You will finish with a 5-11 record and occupy the basement of the AFC East.  But do not despair, at least you make one heck of a chicken wing!

Next, we have the New York Jets.  The Jets currently sit at 1-3 after facing three teams from the NFC North (Bears, Lions, Packers).  The defense continues to try and keep their team in the game.   Offensively, fans are starting to wonder if it is time for Geno Smith to hand the plane over to Michael Vick.  Whoever ends up taking the snaps will not increase the Jets chances of winning the division.  Based on their schedule, I have them winning at home against the Bills, Dolphins, and even the Patriots.  Thanks to heroics, I see the Jets stealing a pair of road games against the Vikings and Titans.  Leaving them with a 6-10 record and ranked third in the AFC East.

Moving on to the Miami Dolphins.  Another team with a QB identity problem.  Not sure why?  Ryan Tannehill is truly your best option for winning games.  I mean it is not like you have Kyle Orton on the bench.  Sorry Buffalo for another dig!  Seems like Miami saved up all their schemes, big plays, etc. for their game against the Patriots.  Since then, they lost to the Bills and Chiefs.  Yeah I know that they beat the Raiders and are now 2-2.  Whoopity doo!  3 out of 4 teams in this division beat Oakland.  Miami will win four more games.  One road game against the Jaguars and three at home against the Bills, Vikings, and Jets.  The Fins will finish with a 6-10 record but will ranked second having the tiebreaker over the J-E-T-S.

Lastly, we have the New England Patriots.  Yes I am talking about the same Patriots that just got their you know what handed to them by Kansas City.  Be prepared for this brutal loss to be a much needed wake up call.  Our offensive is a sleeping giant just waiting to be rudely awakened.  Let me go on the record and say that the Cincinnati game will be another tough loss.  However, I feel that the Patriots will pull it together after week 5.  I see the Pats winning at home against the Jets, Lions, Dolphins, and Bills.  They will win hard fought road battles against the Bills, Colts, and Jets.  Tom Brady & Co. will finish 9-7 and take home the division yet again!

See it isn't that bad right?  We still can look forward to another division title.  Who knows maybe this team will really pull it together and... I better stop there.  Let's just worry about winning the next few games.
