The NFL walked out on this movie

Bill Price, New York Daily News:
Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has kayoed his career with a vile left hook to his fiancée’s face.

The onetime Rutgers University star from New Rochelle was sacked by his team — and suspended indefinitely by the NFL — after a horrific new video emerged Monday showing him decking Janay Palmer in a casino elevator.

“The #Ravens have terminated RB Ray Rice's contract this afternoon,” the team announced in a terse tweet.

Less than an hour later, an NFL spokesman tweeted that pro-football commissioner Roger Goodell had given the three-time Pro Bowler the boot.

“Roger Goodell has announced that based on new video evidence that became available today he has indefinitely suspended Ray Rice,” Greg Aiello wrote.

The double hit on Rice came amid renewed outrage over the way the NFL has handled the scandal — and before Ravens coach John Harbaugh personally lowered the boom on the 27-year-old running back.

The one punch knockout in the unscheduled bout between heavyweight, Ray Rice, and bantamweight, Jan Palmer ended in the elevator in Atlantic City, NJ. It has also ended the NFL career of the heavyweight.

Ray Rice gave little sign that he’d learned anything after being punished for punching out the woman he supposedly loves.

“I never really talk about the lockout but damn I'm ready to play some football,” he wrote. “I Need to hit somebody lol.”

Ray Lewis got his nine foot statue in the ceremony on this past Friday outside M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. The phone call this morning to Baltimore Ravens owner, Steve Bisciotti from Ray Lewis was a courtesy call. If Ray Lewis thought he had "some pull" with the owner, he found out quickly. The decision was final on the termination of RB Ray Rice from the Ravens.

Rutgers University quickly worked to erase reminders that Ray Rice ever played football there as a collegiate player.
Rutgers also removed Rice from its website’s list of NFL alumni and released a statement from university AD, Julie Herrman.

“It was very disturbing to see the video this morning,” Hermann said. “As we go forward this serves to reinforce the ongoing need to educate and bring awareness to the issue of domestic violence.”

Per Brian McCarthy, the NFL had not seen the Ray Rice video prior to today. The NFL may have company in those who want to keep some distance. Time will tell.

This is not a drill.
