Despite a tough loss to the Dolphins on Saturday, the Patriots were in good spirits at linebacker Jerod Mayo's fifth annual Mayo Bowl, an event that raises money for the Boston Medical Center. Mayo and his family have committed over $1 million to the Boston Medical Center, and last night's event was expected to raise over $300,000. The event was held at Kings in Dedham.
The players walked the red carpet and then did their best in the lanes, with Devin McCourty bragging to the media that he is the best bowler on the team. Among those in attendance were: Vince Wilfork, Tom Brady, Sebastian Vollmer, Nate Solder, Julian Edelman, Chandler Jones, Aaron Dobson, Alfonzo Dennard, and more.
Not much football was discussed at the event by the players, though at one point I did overhear Devin McCourty tell a reporter that "We are just trying to do better. No one wants to be in last."
Always nice to see the team come out in force for a great cause. Photos below.
