Tom Brady has high praise for James White

When the New England Patriots opened camp, all eyes were on the defensive addition of Darrelle Revis, the return of injured stars, and the development of the wideouts. It seems the position most were missing the boat on was the running back position. I understand that many are high on the veterans Stevan Ridley and Shane Vereen (provided one can hold onto the ball and the other stays on the field respectively), but the positional depth is an area in great flux.

Brady spoke highly of James White, one of the new depth additions, and rookie out of Wisconsin:

High praise coming from a player who has defined his hall of fame career with calm in the biggest moments. Indeed, James White has made an impression on not only the players, but Bill Belichick as well.

Bill Belichick told Sirius XM NFL Radio the following:

"It's been good working with James White. He's a very interesting and versatile player," Belichick told Sirius XM NFL Radio this month, per ESPNBoston.com's Mike Reiss.

"He does a good job in the passing game and in the running game -- both inside and outside. Blitz pickup -- we have a pretty extensive offense for him to learn, but he's working hard at it. We'll just let him go and see how it goes, but I think he has the ability to compete on all three downs, in both the running game and the passing game."

Compete on all three downs, watch your back Ridley. We may no longer be looking at a depth piece, we may be looking at your replacement. Tighten that chinstrap Brandon Bolden, you may lose a roster spot to this up and comer. Watch out New England Patriot fans, you may have a new lead back for years to come. James White, keep doing your thing, we're all looking forward to seeing your future.

Do you think Ridley's starting role is in danger? Are Bolden's days numbered? Let me know @TheFib0624
