So Sammy Watkins is pretty dirty
Yes it is only the preseason, and most of the clips below are in relatively low-key, practice situations. We won't have a definitive judgement on the type of NFL receiver Sammy is until the games matter. But you can't deny the skill level this kid exudes in his every day play.
Here's one of him juking a D-back out of his shoes in practice:
Here Sammy trips mid-way through his route, gets himself together, snares a pass with an outstretched hand:
Another one hander- this time reaching behind his body as he runs out of bounds. Easy as pie for this dude:
The Bills moved up in the draft to take Watkins with the 4th overall pick. While he is not the biggest receiver (6'1", 215 lbs), he has a very rare combination of speed, power, and other-worldly hands that will make him a very, very dangerous threat at the position. It will be interesting to see Week 6 in Buffalo if Revis will go mano-a-mano with Watkins, and if so, whether or not he can keep up with the shifty rookie out of Clemson.
Either way, looks like this dude is going to be a human highlight reel, and fun to watch for a long, long time.
