Ty Law: "This is the best Patriots defense in 10 years!"

When evaluating Patriots championship defenses of old you can't go too long without mentioning Ty Law's 47 yard pick six of Kurt Warner in Super Bowl XXXVI. (I just got shivers thinking about it.) Ty Law was a two-time All-Pro, five-time Pro Bowl selection, a Pro Bowl MVP, as well as a three time Super Bowl Champion with the New England Patriots. Yesterday afternoon the great Patriot defensive back was fitted for his new Patriots Hall of Fame jacket but like any great Patriot his mind seemed to be on the team. The Pats Hall of Famer seemed excited, and couldn't stop praising our new shutdown corner Darrelle Revis.

"Darrelle is special, He is a different level. So when you look at the secondary now, when you look at another 24 out there and that elite of a cornerback and as a football player, you can really see these guys getting over the hump again. And bringing back home the trophy, where I think it belongs because we always strive to be champions."

Ty Law also mentioned that he believed this 2014 Patriots defense could be the best defense in 10 years!

“I think it is [the team’s best defense in 10 years] because you’ve got to talk about the experience there is -- not only with the secondary because I think that was one of the weaker links in the defense for the last few years -- but you strengthened that five times with Darrelle Revis and you have [Brandon] Browner there,” Law said. “[Rob] Ninkovich getting another year of experience, [Vince] Wilfork. There’s a different type of leadership. Chandler Jones, another year of experience. So it is going to be amazing what these guys can do.”

I don't know about you but, whenever you have a great Patriot talking about how he thinks the Pats are going to win the Super Bowl or how he thinks this defense will be elite, I tend to get giddy like a little school girl. I mean if this defense is going to be half as good as its hype I'm going to be screaming: "Yea Bitch! Take that Geno, Ryan or BJ, I mean EJ" a lot.
