Tommy Kelly returns to practice, is removed from the PUP list

Good news for what is currently a thin group at defensive tackle

The 33 year old Kelly participated in individual drills today, but was held out of team drills (7 on 7s, 11 on 11s). However, he was out there in the middle of the defensive line when the field goal block unit got some work in.

His presence on the field was certainly a positive sign for the veteran tackle, who is recovering from a torn ACL. It was also a good sign for the Patriots, who had been missing Kelly, first round pick Dominique Easley and the recently retired Armond Armstead from their DT rotation. Kelly and Easley are expected to join Vince Wilfork, Sealver Siliga and Chris Jones in what has the potential to be a strong rotation of defensive tackles.
