Julian Edelman praises Darrelle Revis

Add Julian Edelman to the growing list of Patriots players who have praised new cornerback Darrelle Revis this offseason.

An article on Boston.com touched on Edelman’s recent appearance on the NFL Network’s Total Access show, in which he not only spoke on Revis, but also several other Patriots-related topics.

“I mean, Darrelle is one of the best corners in the NFL,” Edelman said of Revis. “He showed it in camp. He did very well. He’s a very instinctive player. He’s great in the locker room. “I like competing against him every day. It’s good to have another player like that.”

Edelman continued to laud Revis’ performance at OTAs, saying that he’s “still pretty darn good.”

With the growing number of players and coaches who have said similar things about Revis, it wouldn’t be anywhere near farfetched to believe Revis will revert back to the player he was before his ACL injury. The biggest compliment came from Bill Belichick, who said Revis was doing “fine.”

In Belichick lingo, that more than likely means Revis was by far one of the best players out there every day, which is a very encouraging sign moving forward.

Edelman was also asked about the possibility of tight end Rob Gronkowski returning for the season opener in Miami against the Dolphins, quarterback Tom Brady playing until he’s 40, whether or not Belichick has watched his YouTube videos “Burgertyme” and “Smoothie Tyme,” and lastly, what he remembers from the memorable Week 12 comeback against the Denver Broncos.
