Easley working to get healthy

The Patriots selected Dominique Easley with the 29th pick of the 1st round last night because of his athleticism, but the big question mark for Easley? His health. Per CSNNE, he tore the ACL in his left knee in 2011, then tore his ACL and MCL in his right knee last September just 3 games into Florida's season.

When asked about it in a conference call with reporters last night, Easley said that he feels healthy and he's focused on learning New England's system.

Per CSNNE:

"I’m healthy," he said. "I’m just ready to get up there and do whatever Coach [Bill] Belichick needs me to do."

The questions persisted, and Easley stayed on message.

"I’m just working to get back healthy, and I’m just ready to get up there," he said.

So you’re not 100 percent, he was asked?

"I didn’t say that. I’m just working to get back healthy, that’s all," Easley continued. "I’m just working. I just want to work, just get better, learn a new playbook and learn a new system."

For right now, the questions will keep coming and the best way for Easley to answer the health issue is to perform well in workouts and on the field. Until he shows on the field that he's recovered, the questions will still be there. As for me, I'll reserve judgement until preseason workouts start.
