Raiders, Browns amongst teams trying to trade for Revis

"Nooooooooooo, not Cleveland!"
If the Tampa Bay Bucs can't agree to a trade before the 4pm start of the new league year, they'll reportedly release All Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis, making him a free agent that the Patriots could be interested in.

However, all of that speculation could become moot if Revis is traded before that deadline. It looks like two of the league's perennial cellar dwellers are interested.

Pursuing a trade makes logical sense for either team. Neither would be likely to land Revis on the open market thanks to their wretched recent history. However, a trade would allow them to acquire an under-contract Revis, and both teams easily have enough cap space to swallow Revis' massive $16 million cap hit.

There's also the frightening possibility that Revis would command even more money as a free agent in 2014's crazy market than the $16 million a year he makes under his current deal, something the Patriots might be internally considering as well.

Cleveland would have the league's best cornerback tandem (at least on paper) if they managed to land Revis and team him up with Joe Haden. Oakland would still have some work to do in their secondary, but would be pairing Revis up with last year's first round pick DJ Hayden.
