Patriots may move Logan Ryan to safety

After signing Revis and Browner, this Patriots' secondary looks almost too good and might even be able to beat Seattle in a battle of the secondary. But the Patriots' secondary is ever changing.
According to Karen Guregian of the Boston Herald, the Pats are strongly considering moving second year CB Logan Ryan to safety:
"Currently, the Pats are strongly considering a plan that would have cornerback Logan Ryan, who had five interceptions as a backup during his rookie season, play safety.
According to a source, Ryan would take on the free safety role, while Devin McCourty would move to strong safety."
This is an interesting proposal. Putting Ryan at free safety obviously makes all the sense in the world since he has proven himself to be a ballhawk and have great instincts. What this move does is keep Ryan always on the field, since with the recent corner upgrade, he would probably play in the nickel, meaning he wouldn't always be on the field.
For McCourty, this move would mean he'd play more in the box and possibly take on the role of covering tight ends. Obviously I think McCourty can make the transition to the other side of the field and play up in the box since he is one of the better tacklers on the team.
But personally, I'd rather keep Ryan at corner, keep McCourty at FS and draft or sign a downhill hard hitting, fumble producing safety to play along McCourty. Having an enforcer in the backend of the secondary does a lot for the confidence of the corners and linebackers. Just look at what Kam Chancellor does for the Seahawks.
Plus covering tight ends shouldn't be a problem anymore with the 6'4" Brandon Browner on the team.
I fine either way. The Patriots look brilliant moving McCourty to FS after he struggled at CB and maybe they will look brilliant again doing the same thing with Ryan. But I think the secondary could use a bone crusher instead of another ballhawk.
