The Patriots currently have a decision to make regarding one Vince Wilfork. Wilfork asked to be released after the Pats asked him to take a pay cut to reduce his cap $11.6 million cap hit, but Wilfork won't budge. Patriots owner Robert Kraft has expressed an interest in keeping WIlfork in Foxborough, according to the Boston Globe, saying "he's one of my personal favorites."

“In pro sports, it’s a business as well as commitment to one another, and we have to work through it, and I’m still not giving up hope that he’d be part of our team next year,” Kraft told a group of reporters.

“Either we get it done or we don’t. I very much hope we get it done, and I believe he very much would like to do it as well, and we’ve been so lucky to have him, so we’ll see what happens.

“Going back over the last 20 years, we’ve had some pretty special people come through, and he is one of my personal favorites,” Kraft said. “I’m thinking of Tedy Bruschi and Matt Light and Kevin Faulk and Troy Brown. They made their careers with us, and I surely hope Vince will be with us next year.”

Kraft is not alone in this - there are a lot of Pats fans (myself included) who want Vince Wilfork to stay a Patriot. Last year's injury aside, he's been the rock of the Pats defense since being drafted in the first round by the Patriots back in 2004. Yes, I am aware that he's 32 going on 33, but I am also aware that our run defense will likely suffer if he leaves.
