Brandon Spikes is happy to be out of New England
It was a foregone conclusion that linebacker Brandon Spikes would be leaving the Patriots this offseason. The linebacker was excellent against the run during his four years with the Pats, but his struggles in pass coverage and occasional issues with the coaching staff paved the way for his exit from New England. Any doubt of this was removed when Spikes was curiously placed on IR during the playoffs, reportedly because the linebacker was late to practice after getting snowed in.
Now Spikes will get the chance to play New England twice a year. The linebacker signed a one year, $3.25 million deal with the Buffalo Bills, joining forces with his old coach Pepper Johnson. Since the signing, Spikes has been his typical, enthusiastic self on twitter.

I think it's safe to conclude Spikes wasn't happy having his gregarious personality stifled in New England under Bill Belichick. I also think it's safe to say that both New England-Buffalo games this year just became way more entertaining.
