Patriots defense plans to be physical against Colts
Albert Breer has a ton of inside information coming today.
It's strange that he has so much info. Really, he has some detailed stuff on the team's defensive game plan.
Anyway, it's out there. So this is what Breer has heard.
Via @AlbertBreer:
As Rob Ninkovich explained to me, physical disruption is the key for New England: "Not letting people run around free, getting your hands on people, not letting the tight end run free down the middle of the field, not letting the backs just freely release. With everything you do, be disruptive. If you get to the spot where (Luck) is at, and he’s not comfortable in the pocket, that’s another thing you can do."
And here's 1 reason why this might look like old school Pats-Colts -- New England's defenders plan to be PHYSICAL with Indy's receivers.
So, there you go.
The Colts famously whined about the Patriots being too physical with them back in the day. That resulted in some major rule changes and a softer NFL.
Thanks Bill Polian!
Anyway, we might see the Pats go back to that as much as they can. It sounds pretty similar to how teams have game planned to stop the Patriots in years past. Without Reggie Wayne the Colts aren't left with much firepower. T.Y. Hilton is the biggest threat but he's a smaller guy, hence why the team wants to get in his face.
