The Giants are eliminated from playoff contention

So you're saying there's a chance?? Yes. If the Patriots make it to the Super Bowl, the Patriots actually have a chance of winning. Why? Well, the New York Giants have officially been eliminated from playoff contention with the loss against the San Diego Chargers.

The Giants beat the Patriots the last 2 times they squared off in the big game, so if the Patriots make it that far, it's a guarantee that they at least have a chance. There's still plenty of football left to be played, but a I know I did a little celebration in my mind when I heard the Giants were officially out of playoff contention. Of course, in the last couple of years, the team that gets hot at the right time has won the Super Bowl, so I just hope that's the Pats this year.
