Play of the game - the onside kick
Outside of the Rob Gronkowski injury, one of the big moments in the game came with less than a minute left in the game, when Kyle Arrington recovered a Stephen Gostowski onside kick. That then set up the winning score with about 30 seconds left in the game.
Either way, the onside kick would have been the one of the main talking points on SportsCenter tomorrow morning after the Gronk injury. It was a good move in the circumstances, but I don't think anyone realistically expected them to pull it off. An onside kick is usually a low percentage play, but when it works, it usually pays off big. Like it did this time for the Patriots. It was a necessary gamble by Belichick, given the circumstances, and I think if he didn't at least try, most fans would have been upset. But it did work, and it was a big moment in the game.
A lot of people are and will be concerned about Rob Gronkowski, and rightfully so. He took quite a shot and it could end up being the end of his season, as well as the end of any hope the Pats may have had for a 4th Super Bowl. But I'm sure most fans will be talking about how this team keeps finding ways to win, and the onside kick was just another example of that.
