Andre Carter has now officially signed with the Patriots, returning to Foxboro once again. Carter previously played for the Pats in 2011, when he had a career year. Before his injury Carter totaled 10 sacks which still tied for leading on the team that season. He was also honored as a Pro Bowl selection, the first/only time of his career. Unfortunately, the defensive end and Patriots could not come to an agreement on a contract after that season and Carter went on to sign with the Oakland Raiders

Anyways, Carter is back now and Patriots players are very excited. Safety Devin McCourty, who was in his rookie year and playing corner back at the time Carter was on the team, had very high praise for the veteran and was thrilled to hear of the return:
''He's a great team guy. He's a good guy to have back on the team,'' said McCourty, who was at Gillette Stadium taking part in the United Way/NFL Hometown Huddle. ''I'm looking forward to it. I think it'll be really good for the young guys to see a veteran that knows how to be a professional."

Special teams captain Mathew Slater also chimed in and had plenty of complements to say about Carter, stating that is exactly the type of presence that you want around at all times:
''He's a great teammate. He's a natural born leader,'' said Matthew Slater, one of the current captains along with McCourty. ''He's everything you'd want in a teammate and a man, a husband and a father. Obviously, when he was here, he did great job on the field. He made a lot of plays for us. Just his presence in the locker room is going to be great moving forward. I'm excited about playing with him again. He's a gem. Not to many guys like him have come down the pike. So I'm looking forward to playing with him.''

The players are thrilled and the fans are excited. Andre Carter is back, and hopefully he can live up to the expectations that we all have for him. This guy is an animal, and I am sure he will have no problem making his presence felt.
