The Patriots may not have parted ways with Jermaine Cunningham, Justin Francis after all

According to the Boston Herald three players that were reported as released by the Patriots, might not be completely off the team.

Defensive linemen Jermaine Cunningham, Justin Francis and offensive linemen Chris McDonald were all actually waived/injured, not released. This means that the players will go on the Patriots IR if they clear waivers.

Still, either way it doesn't matter. None of these players will be with the Patriots for the 2013 campaign, and Cunningham was entering the final year of his contract. Still, it adds a little more insight into the Patriots decisions to waive on these two defensive line, a position that's paper thin on the team.
