Danny Amendola unlikely to play against Jets? [Update]
The Patriots oft-injured receiver has been struggling with a groin issue. It's a problem that plagued him in last Sunday's game against the Bills, but he played through it.
Perhaps that wasn't a wise choice. He's been limited in practice so far, and not present in today's walkthrough.
Of course, it's just a walkthrough. I think surmising that Amendola will be out Thursday might be reading a bit too much into things. It's definitely concerning though.
Let's say for a second that he is out. I believe the Patriots would be screwed.
Unless Kenbrell Thompkins gets over those first game jitters, the Pats don't have a reliable target outside of Julian Edelman.
Tell the 2012 Patriots that the next season they'll have Julian Edelman as their number 1 receiver in a game and they'd laugh at you.
Here's to hoping that Amendola is well for this one!
