Police Find Murder Weapon from 2012 Double Murder: Hernandez "I'm a Good Dude"
Another day, another development in the ongoing Aaron Hernandez saga.
Police have recovered the murder weapon from an unsolved double murder from 2012 that Hernandez was allegedly involved in. Hernandez is considered a suspect in the case, which has been under heavy investigation since the former Tight End's arrest in June.
The gun was found in the aftermath of a car accident involving 19 year old Jailene Diaz-Ramos. Diaz-Ramos, a native of Hernandez's hometown of Bristol, was arrested on June 21 in Springfield after police found a .38 caliber Smith & Wesson revolver in her wrecked car. The gun was sent to ballistics testing, where it was confirmed as the weapon from the 2012 murders.
When questioned by police about the gun, Diaz-Ramos said the gun referred to a friend she called "Chicago". She also said that she drove "Chicago" and his friends, all football players, to work.
As interesting as this is, it might not ultimately be the biggest development from this story. Police also found a locked black safe in the trunk of Diaz-Ramos' car and are currently awaiting a warrant to search it. Remember that Hernandez's fiancee, Shayanna Jenkins, was caught on surveillance footage carrying a trash bag containing what authorities described as "a rigid object" similar in shape to a lock box or safe. Jenkins reportedly placed the trash bag in the trunk of her car and drove off. When she returned and opened the trunk of the car, the bag and its contents were no longer there. This police report also corresponds with Carlos Ortiz's words that Hernandez hid two guns in the basement of his house following the murder of Lloyd.
Would it surprise anyone if the safe in Jailene Diaz-Ramos' car contained the weapon used to murder Odin Lloyd?
