Over/Under for the Patriots
Halfway through the preseason, the Patriots have looked extremely good--especially on offense. While the defense has had glimpses, the offense hasn't skipped a beat and has even improved. Tom Brady is once again working with what he's got and he's making them look great with players like Thompkins and Sudfeld. But what's the limit for these players? What could we expect from them this season when those players have to face a 1st team defense every down? Surely we know what to expect from some, but some of these players are new to the system, new to the league and with Brady throwing to them, they're not use to his ability, year after year you hear receivers say "He throws it right there, he does all the work for you. You just turn around and the ball is right there." So what exactly could we expect from some of the players this season? Here is a over/under created by me and then you will see my prediction for the O/U line.
Tom Brady: O/U 4,500 yards
With the need to pass the ball being less thanks to such a good running game, I think Brady will throw for under 4,500 yards.
Stevan Ridley: O/U 1,200 yards
While I do believe the Patriots will run more, I do not think Ridley will repeat from last year. Largely due to the depth at RB, he will perform under 1,200 rushing yard mark.
Zach Sudfeld: O/U 10 touchdowns
Sudfeld has looked great all of off-season and preseason. And Gronkowski likely out until week 6. I believe Sudfeld will get most of the snaps at the TE position and when Gronk gets back. I think he'll get moved down, but the Patriots are no stranger to two TE sets. And with Gronk on the field, it should open up Sudfeld more, so I think Sudfeld will get over 10 touchdowns.
Aaron Dobson: O/U 1,000 yards
While many were looking forward to his contribution, he hasn't shown too much to wow everyone in the preseason. But while I do believe he will pick up during the season, he will perform under the 1,000 yard mark.
Danny Amendola: O/U 100 receptions
Health is the key for Danny. The talent and production is there, its can he stay healthy? Assuming he does, Amendola should perform over 100 receptions.
Chandler Jones: O/U 8 sacks
The defensive line has been really good so far, especially Chandler Jones. With the defensive line pressuring and forcing a double team on someone. I do think Jones will outperform most of the left tackles in the league, that being said, I do think Jones will go over 8 sacks this season.
Aqib Talib: O/U 5 interceptions
With the youth in the division and/or lack of skill (Mark Sanchez) along with a improved secondary. Talib should perform over 5 interceptions.
