Is Danny Amendola injured already?
Amendola the victim of a helmet to helmet hit. But, is it serious? |
WEEI:
After catching six passes for 71 yards and a 26-yard touchdown grab on Friday night against Tampa Bay, wide receiver Danny Amendola was not spotted at the start of Patriots full pads practice on Monday outside Gillette Stadium.
The team is not required to announce practice reports until the season begins so there will be no official word from the Patriots if injury was the reason for the absence.
There seemed to be little cause for concern earlier in the afternoon when first reported. As NFL Network's Albert Breer reported that the team was giving him a day off.
No Danny Amendola at Patriots practice. My understanding is they're giving him a rest day. Also McCourty out of non-contact jersey.

However, the Boston Globe's Ben Volin points to a play in the Tampa Bay preseason game that might have something to do with Amendola's absence. The receiver suffered a head to head hit in the game and left the game. He did return for a few plays but that was about it. Obviously, you can't judge much from playing time in an exhibition game, but this information makes this a situation to watch.
