Calvin Johnson, Danny Amendola will not play tonight

By far the Patriots biggest test tonight was seeing how well Aqib Talib and company could stand up against Calvin Johnson.

Apparently, their job just got a lot easier.

ESPN:
Johnson had hoped to play after missing last week's preseason game with a bruised knee. He warmed up on the field and ESPN's Josina Anderson tweeted: "Calvin seem to pul lup a tad on 1 of his routes in [warmups]. Got stretched after. Stafford came over. I asked if he's playing, shook his head no."

This isn't necessarily a good thing for the Patriots since the games don't count. It would've been great to truly test this secondary and see just how well they have improved.

Additionally, as expected, Patriots receiver Danny Amendola will not be playing tonight. He has missed practice all week with an undisclosed injury.
