Dennard targeted by Police

I know what you are thinking when you read that headline, but no he is not being investigated further. Instead, Ben Volin, a writer for the Boston Globe brought new light to the case tonight with these tweets:

More info on Dennard DUI arrest: Had 1-2 beers at home. Fell asleep from 9-1 am. Drove to girlfriend's house. Arrested 1/2 mile from home

Some belief that Lincoln (Neb.) police were targeting Dennard, who was previously arrested for assaulting an out-of-uniform police officer

Dennard was convicted of assaulting an off-duty Lincoln NB police officer back in 2012. He received a 30 day prison sentence (which will be served after this football season), along with 2 years of probation. Because of this conviction, it is believed as stated above that he was targeted by the police as retaliation for that assault. Dennard has to fly to Lincoln NB on August 27th for a hearing on this arrest to determine if he broke his probation.
