Philadelphia Eagles hosted Trevor Scott yesterday
You might be asking...who?
Well, we've got more information that you wanted to know about Trevor Scott, right here.
The long and short of it is that he was a depth defensive end for the Patriots last year. When Chandler Jones and Jermaine Cunningham were down, he stepped in and filled the void. He wasn't spectacular but he definitely made his presence felt, and was actually quite good defending tight ends.
Scott spent many years with the Raiders before signing a one year deal with New England last year. It seems he might not return to Foxborough though.
Aaron Wilson:
Veteran defensive end Trevor Scott visited the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday, according to a league source.
He wasn't immediately signed to a contract.
I've thought all along that Scott was the Patriots back up plan in case they failed to land Dwight Freeney or John Abraham. They've added a lot of bodies at the position of DE, but they lack a veteran presence and really just have a lot of unknowns.
If the Patriots lose out on Freeney, Abraham and Scott after waiting it out, a lot more pressure will be placed on Chandler Jones to not only carry the pass rush but also to stay healthy.
